NAB VILLAGE
700 Bourke Street, Melbourne Australia
Workplace Principal and Design Director while at Woods Bagot Australia
500 sqm (5,380 sqft) NLA
Completed 2014
National Australia Bank (NAB) is a global financial firm headquartered in Australia. At the time of completion the Village was a new insertion and demonstration of the organisation working with the customer. Included is a Customer Innovation Centre which provides a destination for users and NAB customers to meet, collaborate, share ideas and connect in a space that is relaxed and informal.
Originally designed to provide a Business Lounge environment for NAB’s employees, customers and community to work and do business, the Village was quickly recognized as a place that can adopt the new co-working methodologies and accelerate business for small businesses and partnerships.
A hosted space, the village is custom built for the highly agile next generation worker. Drop-in desk spaces and casual catch-up and meeting areas, all with access to high speed wi-fi, enable a high-tech working and learning space.
Over a 12 month period from initial concepts, research into the new ideas around coworking, design and development I led the team and worked closely with stakeholders and community partners to develop the final solution based conceptually around a pop-up village with a town square and gardens.
